Funeral to be held at Ogden Thursday for John M. Pierce

Funeral service will be held at Ogden, Thursday, August 1st, for John Morgan Pierce, age 76, who died at his home in Ogden Monday [July 29, 1968] of a heart attack.

Services will be conducted at Lindquist Mortuary and interment will be at Washington Heights Memorial Park.

Mr. Pierce was born at St. John, Idaho, a son of Thomas and Nettie Pierce, Dec. 17, 1891. He married Estella I. Harris on Dec. 24, 1912, at St. John and they later received their endowments in the Logan LDS Temple. A retired carpenter, he was an active member of the Ogden Eighth LDS Ward and held many positions in his Church. The family moved from Malad to Ogden in 1942.

Surviving are his widow, Ogden; four sons and a daughter, Everett H., Roy, Utah; Cleon, John M. Jr., Thomas G., Mrs. Emery (Lorriane) Hughes, Ogden; 12 grandchildren six great-grandchildren, a brother and three sisters, Evan Price, Idaho Falls; Mrs. Catherine Nielson, Ogden; Mrs. Margaret Camp, Mrs. Mary P. Thomas, Malad.
