John C. Stowe dies Friday

John C. (Bud) Stowe, 66, Malad, died Friday, Jan. 2, in the Lost River Hospital in Arco.

He was born May 24, 1914, at Malad to William H. and Anna Jensen Stowe.

He married Katherine Lewis in January, 1945, in Logan, Utah. They were later separated.

He attended school in Malad. He was employed for a number of years by the Lowell Smart Sheep Co. at Georgetown. For the past 20 years he lived at the Lost River Ranch at Darlington.

Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Robert L. (Juanita) Thomas, Mrs. Lester (Isabell) Atkinson, and Mrs. Richard (Verda) Andrews, all of Malad; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.

Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 5, in the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home.

Burial was in the Malad City Cemetery.

Funeral services were held for John C. “Bud” Stowe Monday, January 5, at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home with Bishop Melvin Joe Davis officiating.

The family prayer was offered by David Atkinson; prelude, postlude music, Trudy Ward; invocation, Farrell Atkinson; life sketch, Bishop M. Joe Davis; vocals, Nola Thomas and Connie Budge; speaker, Bishop Robert W. Waldron; benediction, Joe E. Thomas.

Concluding rites were at the Malad City Cemetery with E. Spence Horsley giving the dedicatory prayer. Flowers were by nieces of the deceased.

Casket bearers were Glenn Starkey, Lester Atkinson, Farrell Atkinson, William E. Thomas, Joe E. Thomas, LaMonte Thomas.
