John Brent Probst

John Brent Probst, 31 July 1940

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, John Brent Probst died February 4, 1996 following a courageous battle with multiple sclerosis.

He was born July 31, 1940 to Reed G. and Cleopha Richards Probst. He was raised in Malad, Idaho. He served an honorable mission for the LDS Church in the Central British Mission. He married Carolyn Miller on June 8, 1964 in the Logan LDS Temple. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Utah and Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Brigham Young University. He served as an LDS Chaplain in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was an active member of the LDS Church, served in many positions, and dedicated his life to the gospel of Jesus Christ. He established a successful insurance agency in Salt Lake City, Trustco. Inc. He was well known for his honesty and capabilities in his profession.

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Carolyn Miller Probst; children, John J. (Carol), Bradley B., Jarred B., Malinda S., and Alisa A.; also by brothers, Reed R. and Merrill T. Probst, four grandchildren and many special friends.

His was a life of great courage, service and dedication to others. Brent will be greatly missed for his bright smile, the twinkles in his eyes and his positive attitude. He loved attending the temple and being with his family.

He set a valiant example for us all in the manner he battled his challenges and showed us the triumph of the human spirit.

Funeral services will be held February 9, 1996 at the East Millcreek Stake Center. Interment at Farmington City Cemetery. Funeral directors, the Holbrook Mortuary.
