Jamie Heather Smith
PLEASANTVIEW – Jamie Heather Smith, 8, Route 1, Pleasantview, near Malad, died Wednesday in the Bannock Memorial Hospital from injuries sustained in an auto-bicycle accident which occured[occurred] earlier the same day.
She was born February 11, 1977, in Ogden, Utah, to Sheldon J. and Kenna Hughes Smith. She had attended Malad Elementary School.
She was a member of the LDS Church and a member of the Sunshine Generation. She was very creative and enjoyed Making special greeting cards for family and friends.
She is survived by her parents of Pleasantview; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen J. Hughes, Malad; Mrs. Rosella Smith, Pleasantview; three sisters and one brother: Mrs. Robert (Shannon) Spencer, Daytona Beach, Florida; Mrs. Brad (Sheri) Anderson, Yokota Air Force Base, Japan; and Michele and Shaun, both of Pleasantview.
Funeral services were held for Jamie Monday, June 24, 1985, at 12:00 noon in the Malad LDS Stake Chapel. Bishop Frank Madsen officiated. Casket bearers were Shaun Smith, Laine Hughes, Kelly Smith and Keith Hughes.
The family prayer was offered by Mike Hughes, Patsy Bybee played the prelude and postlude music.
Stephen Daniels gave the invocation, followed by Shannon Smith Spencer who told her life sketch. Primary friends and cousins, accompanied by Patsy Bybee on Piano and Lamona Bennett on the violin, sang primary songs, “I Am A Child Of God” and “Love One Another,” after which President Foster Ipsen spoke.
Donna Salvesen, Carol Daniels and Jill Blaisdell then sang “To A Child” and were accompanied by Patsy Bybee; followed by remarks given by Bishop Frank Madsen.
Darrell Salvesen offered the benediction. Concluding services were at the Pleasantview Cemetery where the Dedicatory Prayer was offered by Dale Daniels.
Flowers were cared for by Primary children and cousins under the direction of the Pleasantview Relief Society, Kenna Smith, President.
