Gleed, James A. – 16 Jun 1911

Malad-James Alex Gleed, 84, of Malad, passed away Sunday, December 31, 1995 at his home.
He was born June 16, 1911 in Collingston, Utah, a son of Alexander Jr. and Della Bowcutt Gleed. He was educated in Tremonton, Utah and Malad.
On Dec. 20, 1934 he married Margret Alice Hadlock in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They lived in Salt Lake City for 15 years, then in Clifton and Ganett. For the past 35 years they had resided in Malad.
Mr. Gleed worked as a farmer and as a refrigeration and appliance repairman. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and had served many positions. He and his wife had been temple officiators , and had worked seven years doing microfilming.
Mr. Gleed was known as one having honesty and integrity in his dealings with his fellow man.
He is survived by his wife, Margret, of Malad; and two sons and their wives, Brent and Mary Gleed of Billings, Montana, David and Deborah Gleed of Highland, Utah; one daughter , Donna Gleed, of Salt Lake City, Utah; 18 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Merlin Gleed of Bloomington, Idaho, and Dean Gleed of Logan, Utah; three sisters, Fern Moser and Betty Hoops, both of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Julie Patterson of Picabo, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Verl, one brother and four sisters.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, Jan. 4, 1995, at noon in the Malad LDS Fifth Chapel, 20 s. 100 W. with Bishop Craig Sperry officiating. Friends may call at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home, 132 West 300 N., Malad, on Wednesday, Jan. 3, from 6p.m. to to 8 p.m., on Thursday at the funeral home from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery.
