Hubert S. Gleed, Father, Grandfather, Brother, and Friend died Oct. 5, 1995 at the McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden, Ut. He was born May 20, 1906, the son of Henry and Emma Gleed.
He married Mary R. Morgan on Sept. 4, 1930. The marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Mary died Jan. 28, 1990.
He was educated in Malad, Id., and graduated from Malad High School. He also graduated from Idaho State with a degree in electrical engineering. He was employed by the California Pacific Company. He was the manager in Malad until 1963, when he moved to John Day for 10 years, returning to retire in Malad.
He was very active in the LDS Church. He had been a member of the 1st, 3rd, and 5th wards. He served as a Bishop, a Bishop’s Counselor, Branch President, High Councilman, Stake Executive Secretary, a temple worker in the Logan Temple, and was at the time of his death, a Patriarch in Malad Stake. He was also a lifetime member of the Lion’s Club.
He is survived by his children; Norma (Julie) Gleed, Eagle, Id., Floyd (Nedra Gleed, Malad; JoAnn (Larry) Tuttle, North Ogden, Ut., Mary Margret (Denny) Johnson, Holladay, Ut. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother and three sisters; Henry Gleed, Annabelle Williams of Malad; Leola Gleed, Salt Lake City, Ut., and Carol Babich, Blackfoot.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, his wife Mary, an infant son, Thomas Henry, and another son Gordon; also three sisters; Vera, Edith, and Erma; and one brother, Clifford.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Oct. 9, 1995 at noon in the Malad 5th Ward with Bishop Craig Sperry officiating.
Friends may call at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home on Sunday, Oct., 8, 1995 from 11 a.m. Until noon.
The interment will be held in the Malad City Cemetery.
