Ivy Hope Parker Waldron, 81, longtime resident of Samaria, Idaho, died Tuesday, September 26, 1995 in the Oneida County Nursing Home after a long illness.

Ivy was born June 14, 1914 to parents Ralph and Tressa Reeser Parker, and reared in Holbrook, Idaho. She was the oldest of seven surviving children. She was educated in the Hoolbrook School until the ninth grade, when she moved to Pocatello to further her education and be a nanny. Faithfully, she helped support her family from this job.

She married Levi Thomas Waldron Aug. 29, 1934 in Tooele, Utah at the age of 20. They lived in Erda, Utah until his death in an automobile accident Oct. 22, 1937. Ivy, then widowed at the age of 24, had two small children, Colleen and Lee.

She later married Ernest Savage Waldron, the father of young Lloyd Waldron , on March 6, 1940 in Malad, Idaho. Together they reared their children , and had four more children, Valois, Doyle, Cody and Sherrie.

They farmed, milked cows, and Ernest was a well driller. Ivy enjoyed cooking, and was known for her homemade soups and bread. She loved her family, and always enjoyed welcoming a new baby in the family. She loved producing MIA road shows, and willingly used her talent of playing the piano for the young stars.

Young and old alike appreciated her sense of humor, her listening ear and zest for life. Ivy loved singing, weather it be for brothers or to a new baby; if there wasn’t a song in her lips, there was one in her heart.

She is survived by her husband, Ernest S. Waldron, of Malad; four sons, Lloyd and Orpha of Pocatello, Lee and wife Marcia of Glendale, Arizona; Doyle and wife Marie of Samaria, Idaho; Cody and wife Thelma of Malad, Idaho; three daughters, Erda Colleen of Pocatello, Idaho, Mrs Clive J. (Valois) Orgill of Sandy, Utah and Mrs Stephen C. (Sherrie) Johnson of Samaria; she had 28 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Surviving brothers are Sheldon Bud Parker of Granite, Utah, Ralph Tex Parker of Granite, Utah, Zane Grey Parker of Grantsville, Utah and Smith Parker of Mesquite, Nevada. She was preceded in death by brothers Mariat Parker and Cody Parker, and Amber Waldron, a great-grandchild, and two sisters, Audrey Gustdavison of Grantsville, and Mrs. Richard (Zepha) Boggess of Midvale, Utah.

To say the least, she will be deeply missed by family and friends alike.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept, 29, at noon in the Malad LDS Second Ward Chapel, 20 S. 100 W. Friends may call at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N. Malad, prior to services, and Thursday evening, Sept. 28, from 6 p.m. To 8 p.m. Burial will be in the Samaria Cemetery.
