Ireta T. Moon

IRETA T. MOON
POCATELLO – Ireta T. Moon, 89, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2000, at a local long-term care center.

Ireta was born the third of 11 children in Malad, Idaho on April 2, 1910 to Albert and Mae (Johnson) Tubbs. She was raised and educated in Holbrook, Idaho.

She married Archie Cleveland Moon September 28, 1932 in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. Ireta worked to help support her family as a cook at St. Anthony Hospital, Royal Fork and Colonial Inn in Blackfoot, Idaho. Ireta was always busy doing something. Her husband passed away November 16, 1999.

She was a member of the LDS Church, attending Relief Society and worked in the library. Ireta loved making quilts, enjoyed camping in her younger years, and more recently she loved attending family reunions.

She is survived by her son Orlin (Betty) Moon, Pocatello; a daughter Margaret (Duane) Thompson, Fort Hall; sisters, Letha Neal, Salt Lake City, Utah, Golda Meisenheimer, American Falls, Idaho, Hazel (Dell) Hansen, Sugar City, Idaho; brothers, Verl Tubbs, Blackfoot, Idaho, Earl (Betty) Tubbs, Malad, Idaho, Orville (Rosalin) Tubbs, Holbrook, Idaho, Junior (Elona) Tubbs, American Falls, Idaho; 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter, Linda Wickhorst, sons, Gary Moon and Donald Moon, sisters, Alta Tubbs and Ardella Byington, brother, Dean Tubbs, two granddaughters and two grandsons.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 17, 2000 at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. Fourth Ave., Pocatello. The viewing will be held Friday March 17, 2000, from 9:30 a.m. until time of the service. Interment will follow in the Springfield Cemetery, Springfield, Idaho.
