IRENE FARNSWORTH PECK WOOD

Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend passed awy November 21, 2011 at the Bear River Valley Care Center.

Irene was the third child born to Leo Ezra Farnsworth and Ruby Lovina Richards who already had a son, Theron (Sid), born in 1907 and a daughter Cleo, born in 1909. While they were homesteading in Holbrook, ID, they came to Riverside, UT to Ruby’s sister Effie’s home, where our grandmother Belle Farnsworth, a midwife, could deliver her on February 26, 1911. While in Idaho at age six, Irene and her father both survived typhoid fever.

In 1919 the family moved to Fielding, UT where she grew up and attended school. She graduated from Bear River High. While in Fielding, four more girls were added to the family, Carmen (Boss), Logan; Faye (McMurdie), Maxine (Gardner) and Doris (Christensen Elwood.

Irene married Horace Vanfleet Peck on May 23, 1932. Later this marriage was sealed in the Logan Temple on May 12, 1964. They moved into the Peck family home in West Fielding with his mother. In 1949 they built a grocery and appliance store near the home. This business became known as “Peck’s Corner”. After Horace passed away on December 24, 1974, Irene continued to manage and operate the store eight more years.

Irene and Hod had two children: Roy Horace (R.H.) and Carreen. R.H. married Connie Kirkham and they had three daughters, Jennifer Frisnegger (Daniel) of Sandy, UT; Julianne Dabling (Rex) of Salt Lake City, UT; and Nannette White (Wesley) of Bountiful, UT; six great grandchildren came from these marriages: Allyssa Irene Frisnegger, Gabriel and Theodore Dabling Jackson, Allyson and Maddison White.

Career Raine (Carl) of Scottsdale, AZ, Carreen and John Spector (deceased) had two daughters: Leesa Lattimore of Escondidio, CA and Onna Spector of Scottsdale, AZ.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents: son, R.H.; brother, Theron and sisters: Cleo, Faye, Maxiene.

On November 20, 1979 Irene married Charles J. Wood, who passed away August 9, 1983.

Funeral services will be held November r28, 1022. A viewing will be held from 11:00 – 12:45 before the service. All services will be held at Rudd Funeral Home, Garland, UT. Interment will be a Farmington City Cemetery.
