Iola Tubbs Petersen, 55, dies after year’s illness

Mrs. Iola Tubbs Petersen, 55, died last week [Aug 7, 1975] in Renton, Washington following a year’s illness.

She was born April 17, 1922 in Holbrook to Joel and Iduima[sic] Ward Tubbs. She spent her early years in Holbrook and Malad.

In 1935, she married Bert H. Petersen in Malad. They made their home at Wendell and Renton, Washington. She was a member of the Maple Valley Branch of the LDS church.

Survivors include her husband; sons and daughters, Mrs. Ted (Ann) LaValley[sic], Bob and Rhonda Erickson, all of Renton, and Larry of Issaquah, Washington; two brothers and two sisters, Stuart Tubbs of Malad, Mrs. Dallas (Shirley) Jeppson[sic] of Brigham, and DaMaughn[sic] Tubbs and Mrs. E. L. (Audrey) Moser, both of Pocatello, and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services were Wednesday at the Renton Stake House. Arrangements were made under the direction of Stokes Funeral Chapel in Renton.
