Mrs. Ina Petersen Nielsen, 71, died Sunday at the Oneida County Hospital of natural causes and funeral services were scheduled to be held Wednesday afternoon at the Malad LDS Third Ward Chapel with Bishop Lon W. Corbridge officiating.
Burial was in the Brigham City Utah Cemetery directed by Benson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Nielsen was born Jan. 25, 1901 in Salt Lake City, a daughter of Jens Peter and Joanna Axtell Petersen. She was married to Charles J. Nielsen Oct. 21, 1925 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Mrs. Nielsen received her education in Salt Lake City and Holbrook, Idaho schools. Being an active member of the LDS Church, she served in the Relief Society, Primary, MIA, Sunday School and was a temple worker. She was a member of the Ladies Literary Club, War Mothers, Wool Growers, and square dance club.
Mrs. Nielsen was past president of the American War Mothers, Oneida chapter, and served 19 years as block chairman in Malad for the American Cancer Society Oneida Chapter.
Survivors include her husband of Malad City; five sons and two daughters; Charles J. Nielsen Jr.; LouDell Nielsen; Leo T. Nielsen, Mrs. Ken (Helen) Smith, all of Salt Lake City; David D. Nielsen, Elden D. Nielsen, and Mrs. LaVar (Klea Mae) Christoffersen, all of Malad City; 22 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother and one sister, James Petersen of Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Claud (Marie) Marble of Wendell, Idaho.
