Ida Vilate Jenson, 15 February 1908

Ida Vilate Jenson, 93, of Pocatello and former Arbon resident, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2002 in the Bannock Regional Medical Center. She was born February 15, 1908 in Logan, UT, a daughter of Joseph Christensen and Alice Girdlestone Smith Jenson. She was raised in Arbon Valley with her brothers.

Ida attended school in Arbon, Malad and Preston, ID and Salt lake City, UT. As a young woman she played the piano in the Jenson Dance Band.

In 1940 she moved to San Francisco and resided there until 1987, when she moved to Pocatello.

She is survived by her sister in law, Lucille Jenson of Nampa, ID and several nieces and nephews, including Susie Adele Mallavia and Marilyn (Dean) Westenskow, both of Pocatello; Joe C. (Ann) Jenson, Arbon; Rodney H. (CindY) Jenson, Salt Lake City, UT; Tom V. Jenson, Malad; Alice Marie (Monte) Thomas, Malad; Valoree (Ken) Estep, Arbon; Dennis (Linda) Jenson, Lewiston, ID; Sandra (Kenneth) Calhoun of Emmett, ID.

She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers, one sister and one half sister.

Funeral services will be held January 10, 2002 in the Horsley Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
