Hyrum W. Ashton Dies at Provo

Funeral services for Hyrum Walter Ashton, 68, Ogden, who died Monday 1957 at Provo, are being held today in Ogden.

A former Oneida county resident, Mr. Ashton was born December 28, 1888, at Portage, a son of Hyrum and Emma Johnson Ashton. O n Sept. 24, 1913, he married Esther Roderick in the Logan L. D. S. Temple, Mr. Ashton was a farmer at Woodruff, Rupert and Malad before moving to Ogden 12 years ago. He has served as a ward teacher in the 11th LDS Ward and was an Elder.

Mr. Ashton is survived by his widow of Ogden, one son and one daughter; Farrell W. Ashton, Ft. Lewis, Wash., and Mrs. Wayne (Delone) Castor, San Diego, California, two grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters; John and Joe Ashton, Pocatello; Warren Ashton, Mrs. Brig (Mary) Jones and Mrs. Jack (Merle) McAllister, Malad; Harvy Ashton, Mrs. Della Fredrickson and Mrs. Minnie John, Ogden.
