FUNERALS HELD FOR 3 POMINENT MEN

H.D. Davis, Wale Thomas and W. J. Williams Died During Past Week

Funeral services for three prominent citizens of this valley were held here this week. H. D. Davis who died Thursday, Wale Thomas who died Saturday and William J. Williams who died Sunday.

Funeral services for Hyrum D. Davis held at the Malad stake tabernacle Monday afternoon at 2:00 p. m. were very impressive. Bishop C. LeGrande Horsley presided, invocation by J. Parley Sorenson, benediction by David J. Williams. The interment was at the Malad cemetery and the grave was dedicated by Joseph Thorpe.

Talks were given by the following: Chris Hutteballe, Joe Isaacson, John C. Davis, and Colen H. Sweeten.

Musical selections were rendered by the following: Thomas Jenkin Jones accompanied by Mrs. Emma S. Ward; Keith Evans accompanied by his wife; Margaret Edwards Jones, accompanied by Mrs. Emma S. Ward; and little Peggy Thomas accompanied by Mrs. Helen Ossmen.

Mr. Davis is survived by his widow, Victoria Williams Davis, a son Roy Davis, the following brothers and sisters: Richard E. Davis, Brigham; John C. Davis, Ogden; Mose C. Davis, Los Angeles; Richard C. Davis, Los Angeles; Robert C. Davis, Los Angeles; Mrs. Gene Hillstrom, Brigham; Mrs. Carl Rordot, Hollywood; Mrs. Emily Schutter, Salt Lake City; George W. Jones, Malad, Mrs. Phoebe Hill, Malad; and six grandchildren.

The out of town visitors who attended the funeral of Hyrum D. Davis were: grandson, H. L. Davis, Jr., of the U. S. Marines at San Diego, California, John V. Williams, Dinuba, Calif.
