HULBERT (BERT) BROSS ROBBINS

Service Monday for Bert Robbins

Funeral services were held at Curlew LDS Ward Chapel, Snowville, Monday for Hulbert (Bert) Bross Robbins, age 94, who died Thursday [May 8, 1969] at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Bert Marble, of natural causes.

Bishop Blain Hickman officiated. Family prayer was offered by Elliot K. Robbins; the invocation, by Gordon A. North, and the benediction, by John V. Robbins. Speakers were Leroy Robbins, who read a biographical sketch; Arch Rose, Bishop Chauncey Funk, and Bishop Harvey J. Harris. Vocal solos were sung by Joan Robbins and Harold Pratt. Steven D. Hess played an organ solo and Bert O. Marble and Helen Stratton, an organ and violin duet. Mary Ellen Atkinson was the accompanist and Rennis Larkin played the prelude and postlude music.

Burial was in Snowville-Stone Cemetery. Kendal J. Robbins offered the dedicatory prayer. Flowers were arranged by Curlew LDS Ward Relief Society, Erma Hill, president, and granddaughters. Casket bearers were Kenneth Robbins, H. Blaine Robbins, Richard Robbins, Norman D. Marble, Charley Ray Marble, Eldon Hess, Garry North and Vernal Robbins with grandsons acting as honorary bearers.

Benson Funeral Home directed the burial.

Mr. Robbins was born June 29, 1874 at Hansel Springs, Box Elder County, Utah , to William and Jane Carter Robbins. He married Marv Ellen Jackson Nov. 24, 1897 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died Jan. 18, 1955.

Mr. Robbins attended Brigham Young Academy, Provo. He was a farmer.

Surviving are three sons and four daughters. H. Merlin, Stone; Kendal, Arlington, Wash.; Eliot, Mrs. Orlando (Jennie) Atkinson, Mrs. Arnold (Amy) North, all of Ogden; Mrs. Bert O. (Alberta) Marble, Mrs. Ray (Mildred) Hess, Malad; 46 grandchildren; 104 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
