Hazen Elwood Gilgen

GILGEN, HAZEN ELWOOD

Hazen Elwood Gilgen, age 55 died July 11, 1972 in the Oneida County Hospital of natural causes after a long illness.

Mr. Gilgen was born October 1, 1916 at Daniels, a son of Fred and Louise Stauffer Gilgen.

He married Vadis Parry September 14, 1945 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Mr. Gilgen was a graduate of Malad High School and was a high school teacher in Trade Tech and Industry for 14 years. He was an active member of the LDS Church. In 1945-1952 he lived in Ogden and was shop foreman for the Marritt Farm Equipment Co. He was a veteran of World War Ii and served with the 71st Fighter Squadron of the Army Air Force.

Survivors include his widow, Malad; one son and two daughters: Hazen David Gilgen, North Brazil LDS Mission; Mrs. Rex (Kathleen) Brown, Minersville, UT; Mrs. Thomas (Georgia Marie) Pett, Provo, UT; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gilgen, Malad; three grandchildren; one brother and three sisters: Lynn K. Gilgen and Mrs. John (Irene) Gibbs, both of Malad; Mrs. D.A. (Edna) Stone, Pocatello; Mrs. William R. (Blanche) Bailey, Salt Lake City.
