HAZEL E. TIMBIMBOO ZUNDEL

CLEARFIELD – Hazel E. Timbimboo Zundel, age 86, passed away Friday, October 27, 2000.

She was born January 31, 1914 in Washakie, Utah, a daughter of Moroni and Amy Hootchew Timbimboo. She married Wallace S. Zundel, August 21, 1945 in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later solemnized June 25, 1962 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He passed away June 14, 1999.

Hazel lived in Washakie, Utah; San Francisco, CA; Salt Lake City and Clearfield, Utah. She attended BIA Boarding School, Ft. Hall, Idaho; BIA, Riverside, CA; BIA Haskell, Lawrence, KS; and East High School, Salt Lake City.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as ward organist, primary teacher, stake missionary-Malad Stake, MIA teacher and visiting teacher. She was a current member of the Clearfield 2nd Ward.

Hazel was awarded many honors by the Utah Arts Council for her Arts and Crafts. Her beadwork was displayed in several parts of the world and Smithsonian Museum in Washington, D.C.

She was a tribal member of Northwestern Shoshone of Washakie, Utah, and served as enrollment officer for many years.

Hazel is survived by one son, John Zundel, Clearfield, Utah; granddaughters, Wendy (Rob ) Martin, Salt Lake City, Utah; Amber Zundel, Menlo Park, CA; and Katherine Bockas, Ogden, Utah; two sisters, Mae T. Parry Clearfield, Utah and Grace T. Chatfield, Salt Lake City, Utah; and a sister-in-law, Helen P. Timbimboo, Brigham City, Utah.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and three sisters.

The family wishes to thank Hazel’s caregivers, Karly, Ammee, Nicole, Jeannie, Tammy, and Linda.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2000 at Lindquist’s Clearfield Mortuary, 1050 South State. Viewing will be Monday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment Clearfield City Cemetery.
