Hannah Williams Davis dies at Brigham

Hannah Williams Davis, 78, of Garland, died Monday, January 4,1982, at the Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home in Brigham City. She was born January 18,1903, in Samaria, the daughter of Benjamin T. and Rachel W. Williams. She married Oliver C. Davis January 18, 1924, in Malad. The marriage was solemnized December 14, 1927 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Mr. Davis died July 27, 1976.

Reared and educated in Malad, she was a graduate of Malad High School and had been a member of the Garland and Garland East Wards. She had served as a member of the Relief Society Presidency and Primary Presidency.

She was a Relief Society visiting teacher for 45 years and has served as past president of the Ladies Self Culture Club, past officer in the Northern District of the Federated Women’s Club. She was a 4-H leader, and a member or the Garland Birthday Club for 30 years.

She was a member Daughters of Utah Pioneers and had been an Avon Representative for 16 years. She had been a correspondent for the Standard Examiner for 7 years.

Surviving are one son and one daughter: Ronald J. Davis, Garland, Ruby L. Sims, Ogden; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three brothers: Ronald Williams and Orval Williams both Pocatello; William Williams, Roy.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 9, 1:00 p.m. at the Garland East-Fielding Ward Chapel.

Friends may call at Rogers Morturary (sp. Mortuary) at Tremonton Friday 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and at the church Saturday from 11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Burial will be in the Garland Cemetery.
