MRS. THORPE, AGE 81, DIES IN CALIFORNIA

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday for Mrs. Hannah Price Thorpe, age 81, who died March 8, 1969 in a Santa Monica, CA hospital of natural causes.

Bishop Robert Waldron conducted the services at Samaria LDS Ward Chapel.

Family prayer at the Benson Funeral Home was offered by Jesse Hughes. The prelude and postlude music at the chapel was played by Mrs. Jessie John. The invocation was offered by Bishop Carl A. Evans and the benediction by Llewellyn Williams. Bishop Waldron gave the obituary and remarks and the speakers were Bishop John Roderick and Robert Hansen. Vocal solos were presented by Mrs. Helen E. Jones and Mrs. Leora Brown. Accompanist was Mrs. Cherrel Budge. Concluding rites were at the Samaria Cemetery with Raiford G. Benson offering the dedicatory prayer. Flowers were carried by members of the Samaria Ward Relief Society, Margaret Hughes, president.

Casket bearers were Douglas Thorpe, Brent Thorpe, Lonnie Thorpe, Tim Thorpe, Mark Reynolds and Michael Meru. Burial at the Samaria Cemetery was directed by Benson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Thorpe was born March 11, 1887 at Samaria to William D. and Mary Ann Daniels Price. She ws married to Wilford M. Thorpe at Malad on Dec. 8, 1909, and the marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Mr. Thorpe died in 1955.

Surviving are two sons and two daughters, William D., Malad; Grant S., Bear River City, UT; Mrs. Charles (Ruby) Meru, Santa Monica; Mrs. Leone Reynolds, Pacific Paradise, CA; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Thomas (Jane) Hawkins, Ogden.
