Mrs. Gwenllian Jones Evans, age 88, died June 24, 1966 at the Oneida Hospital following a long illness.

Mrs. Evans was born at Tondy Pandy, Glamorganshire, South Wales on January 14, 1878, a daughter of Zephania W. Jones and Catherine Edwards Jones.

She came from Wales to Malad at the age of eight years and lived with her grandmother until her marriage to Benjamin W. Evans on December 31, 1896 at Malad. He died February 8, 1953.

She received her education at the Malad Presbyterian School. Mrs. Evans was a member of the LDS Church.

Surviving are a son and a daughter, John L. Evans, Mrs. Curtis (Catherine) Thomas, both of Malad; five grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Hattie H. McDougall, Terrance, CA; Mrs. Frank (Edith) Zone, Burbank, CA.
