Griffith Davis Jr. dies Friday
Griffith Davis Jr., 78, Malad, died early Friday, Dec. 19,(1980) in Oneida County Hospital.
He was born Aug. 3, 1902, to Griffith and Hannahbelle Anderson Davis. He was a graduate of Malad High School, and attended the University of Idaho, where he was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity.
He married Evelyn Kearns Nov. 2, 1927, in Malad.
He worked for the Griff Davis Water Co. and for the State of Idaho Highway Department, and later at the State Liquor Dispensary.
He served many years on the Malad City Council, and was a charter member of the Malad Volunteer Fire Department. He was a 50-year member of the Malad Masonic Lodge No. 51, AF&AM, and served as secretary and past master.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his widow, of Malad; a son and two daughters: Robert K. Davis, Hillsboro, Ore.; Diane Davis, Pocatello, and Nancy Allison, Price, Utah; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild; three sisters; Mrs. Isbel Tovey, Boise; Mrs. Ethel Nibert and Mrs. Helen Folland, both of Malad.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 22, in the United Presbyterian Church, with Rev. S. Norman Naugler officiating.
