Gomer Ellis Hughes

HUGHES, GOMER ELLIS, November 21, 1921 – October 8, 2004

Gomer Ellis Hughes, 82, humble, caring and loving husband, father and brother passed away October 8, 2004 in Grapevine, Texas, surrounded by family.

Born November 21, 1921 in Malad, Idaho to Gomer Hughes and mary Edith Bolingbroke, he married Lois Catten March 18, 1966 in the Salt Lake Temple.

He was a naval Veteran of World War Ii and a Pearl harbor survivor. Gomer worked for 35 years at Tooele Army Depot as a heavy mobile equipment mechanic. He resided in Magna, Utah, for over 50 years and was a member of the LDS Church in the Spencer Third Ward. Gomer was a High Priest and served as a temple worker for 12 years in the Jordan River Temple.

Survivors include his wife, Lois; sons, Gomer Ellis, Grapevine, Texas, and Daniel L. Southlake, Texas; four grandchildren; a sister Mary Jean Hess, Plymouth, Utah; nieces, Nannette Shaw and Teresa Jones; and a nephew, Bobby Dorius.

Funeral Services were held Saturday at the Spencer Third Ward Chapel in Magna. Burial was in the Memorial Estates Redwood.
