Golden Leo Palmer

MALAD — Golden Leo Palmer, 82, of Malad, died Tuesday, March 10, 1992, in Aberdeen.

He was born May 13, 1908, in Holbrook, a son of Frederick Henry and Ella Anderson Palmer. He grew up and was educated in Malad. He married Agnes Gibson July 23, 1931, in Brigham City, Utah. She died Jan. 4, 1985.

Through his life he worked as a ranch hand, in a livery stable, and while living in Aberdeen worked as a farm manager for the Vanderford Ranch. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, also a member of the American Legion, and Fraternal Order of Eagles.

He is survived by two daughters, Sandra Chandler of Ketchum, Idaho, and Maxine Lewis, Fullerton, Calif.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes, and by a son, Larry Leo Palmer of Pocatello.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Malad LDS Fifth Ward Chapel, Bishop Craig Sperry officiating. Friends may call at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home this evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and on Friday at the church one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery, with military rites accorded by the American Legion, Ernest W. Jones Post No. 65.
