FREDERICK H. PALMER

PALMER SERVICE HELD IN MALAD

MALAD, Jan. 30 – Funeral services were held in the L. D. S. stake tabernacle Monday for Frederick H. Palmer, drayman, who died at the family home Saturday [Jan. 27, 1939] from a heart ailment.

Music was furnished by Mrs. Mary Woozley Jenson of Brigham, Lester and Morgan Tovey[sic], Mrs. Margaret Edwards Jones, and Dale Bingham of Ogden. Remarks were by President Thos.[sic] W. Richards, Bishop Joseph Isaacson of Pleasant View and Bishop Guy Servoss of the Second ward who had charge of the services. The invocation was offered by E. E. Richards and the benediction by Hyrum J. Hanson. Burial was in the Malad cemetery with J. Edward Gibbs dedicating the grave.

Mr. Palmer is survived by his widow, eight children, Mrs. Guy Leigh and Russell Palmer of Ogden; Bessie Scott, Golden and Billie of Malad, John of Aberdeen, Mrs. Edward Woozley of St. John and Mrs. Robert Grause[sic] of San Jose, Calif.[sic]; two sisters, Mrs. Suzan Whittle and Mrs. Jim Riley of California, and two brothers, James of California and William of Preston.

Mr. Palmer was born at Brigham City, Utah, November 25, 1870. He was married to Ella Anderson of Brigham City on December 20, 1891. Mr. and Mrs. Palmer came to Oneida county in 1900 and Mr. Palmer engaged in farming in the Holbrook section. He came to Malad later and operated the Palmer livery barn. For the past 20 years he conducted the Palmer Trans-in Malad.
