GLORIA LAWS KAY

Gloria Laws Kay, 59, died April 6, 2011 after a hard fought battle with cancer. She was born June 4, 1951 in Brigham City, Utah, the daughter of Doug and Verna Laws.

She married Robert Kay, June 7, 1974 in Layton, Utah.

Gloria spent most of her life in Layton, Utah. When she was young, she loved spending summers in Malad, Idaho. She graduated from Davis High School in 1969 and later Weber State University with a degree in Sociology, with a social work emphasis.

Gloria devoted her life to others, especially to her children and grandchildren. She treated everyone she met with equal respect and very much enjoyed the simple things in life. She loved ice skating with her brother Denton during her childhood. She also loved spending time with her family and the ocean. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. She was the most loving, supportive mother to her children.

Gloria is survived by her parents, Doug and Verna Laws of Layton; brother Doug Laws; sister Diane Bangerter; her sons, Matthew, Mark and daughter Marcie. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Natalie and her three grandsons, Austin Cawley and Jaden and Elwynn Kay.

She was preceded in death by her brother Denton Laws and her husband Robert Kay.

Funeral services will be held April 11, 2011 at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 N. Fairfield Road.
