Malad – Gloria June Ekstrom Davis, 62 passed away Tuesday, December 20, 1994, in the Oneida County Hospital of cancer.

She was born January 31, 1932 in Malad, a daughter of Levi and Emma Henricksen Ekstrom. She grew up and was educated in Pleasantview and Malad, and attended Malad High School.

She married Reed Moon in 1949, and they were later divorced. Gloria had worked as a cook, waitress and for Crowther’s Mill. She married Edward Davis December 3, 1962, in Elko, Nevada and their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple in September of 1979.

She worked as a certified nurse’s aide at the Oneida County Hospital for several years, retiring in 1993, due to ill health. Gloria loved her family, enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and was known for her loving and compassionate care of the hospital patients.

She is survived by her husband, Ed Davis, of Malad; three sons and spouses, Charles Reed and Claire Moon of Malad, Joseph Lee and Mary Moon of Tacoma, Wash, and Edward Davis Jr., of Malad; three daughters and spouses, Emma Louise and Donald Gorge of Idaho Falls, Sylvia Ruth and Jerry Myers of Winnemucca, Nev., Alice Delaine and Tony Dudley of Downey; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; four brothers and spouses, John and Lois Ekstrom of California City, Calif., Grant and Edna Ekstrom of Inkom, Jay and Patricia Ekstrom of Pocatello, Albert and Vickie Ekstrom of Malad; and three sisters and spouses, Pearl Ruth Hunsaker of American Fork, Utah, Hazel Elaine and Melvin Clark of Pocatello and Dixie Lee and Bill Murakami of Caldwell, Idaho.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 23, at noon in the Malad LDS First Ward Chapel, 308 W. 400 N. Friends may call at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N., tonight from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and on Friday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Logan, Utah Cemetery.
