Edgar W. Davis Dies In California

Funeral services will be held at Samaria, 1 p.m., Saturday for Edgar W. Davis, 71, who died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Orville Tolman, in Maywood, Cal. Tuesday (04 Nov 1958). Bishop Carl Evans will conduct.

Mr. Davis was born Feb. 28, 1887, at Samaria, a son of Samuel D. and Mary Williams Davis. He married Sarah Price Jan. 21, 1914, at Brigham City and this marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple, July 23, 1931. Mrs. Davis died in 1945.

A member of the LDS Church, he had been employed at various types of work in Oneida county during his lifetime. He had been visiting in California since May.

Survivors include five children, Mrs. Orville (Mary Esther) Tolman, Maywood, Calif.; Stanford Davis, Samaria; Edgar W. Davis, Jr., Ventura, Calif.; Mrs. Dean (Neva) Burch, Norwalk, Calif.; Mrs. Ray (Sarah Luwana) Fullmer, Bell Garden, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; three brothers, Lou, Coalville, Ut.; Ray, Idaho; Gene, Twin Falls; two half sisters and a half brother, Mary, Salt Lake City; Alice, Maywood, Calif.

Funeral Services For Edgar Davis
Funeral services were conducted by Bishop Carl Evans at Samaria Saturday for Edgar W. Davis, 71, who died Nov. 4th (1958) in California.

Prayer at the funeral home was offered by Melvin Joe Davis. At the chapel, prayers were offered by Elmer Price and N. A. Waldron. Speakers were Bishop Evans, who read the obituary; Robert Waldron and Thos. W. Richards. Solos were sung by Thomas Jenkin Jones and Helen E. Jones.

Bishop Orville Tolman dedicated the grave.

Flowers were in charge of the Samaria Relief Society.
