Dale Desford Davis (Birth 11 Dec 1954/Death 07 Oct 1977)

Dale Desford Davis, age 22 of Idaho Falls, died Friday (07 Oct 1977) at an Idaho Falls Hospital from a gunshot wound suffered on Thursday.

He was born December 11, 1954 at Ogden, Utah the son of Doy Desford and Betty Ellen Younger Davis. He attended schools at Malad, worked in a shoe repair shop in Ogden, and was working in Idaho Falls as a machine operator at Monroe. He also lived at Roseburg, Oregon.

He married Myrtle Dell Roods six years ago at Ogden, Utah.

He was a member of the LDS Church and was a member of the Teamster’s Union and Carpenter’s Union in Roseburg, Oregon.

He had been in the U.S. Army a few years ago.

He is survived by his wife of Roseburg and one son, Doy Stanley Davis, also of Roseburg. His mother, Mrs. Betty Ellen Hock of Winston, Oregon and two brothers: Ralph Eugene Hardin of Roseburg, David Doyle Davis of Salt Lake City; and three sisters: Mrs. Patricia Ann Kelley of Roseburg; Mrs. Gary M (Vickie) Kent of Idaho Falls; and Mrs. Sandra Higgins of Idaho Falls.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Wood Chapel of the Pines in Idaho Falls with Bishop Jay Larsen of the LDS 14th Ward officiating. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery in Idaho Falls.
