Gerald Price Thomas, 26 June 1927

Gerald Price Thomas, 68, longtime Malad resident and prominent businessman, died March 19, 1996 at Bannock Regional Medical Center of heart failure.

He was born June 26, 1927 in Malad, a son of Daniel Leroy and Mattie Erline Price Thomas. He graduated from Malad High School, class of 1945, and was active in varsity athletics.

On June 18, 1946 he married Helen Harris in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. For more than 40 years he and his wife had owned and operated Gerald Thomas Electric, which also included a furniture and appliance business.

He was also a licensed electrical contractor. As a lifetime Malad resident, he was a loyal fan of high school athletics. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving wherever needed.

He is survived by his wife, Helen of Malad; five sons and their wives, Randy H. and Susan of Malad, Gerald Brent and Katie of Sandy, UT; Kelly Leroy and Mona of Murray, UT; Joseph Devon (JD) and Sherrie of Malad; Larry Keith and Wendy of Malad; 19 grandchildren and two great grandchildren, and one sister, Helen Joyce Elkington of Idaho Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.
