GEORGE TREASURE DIED AT DOWNEY SATURDAY

DOWNEY – George Treasure, age 65, died April 27, 1974 at marsh Valley Hospital of a heart attack.

Mr. Treasure is well known in this area. He was born Oct. 6, 1908 at Arimo, a son of James and Ada Jane Wakley Treasure. He married Margaret Orlelan Daniels march 12, 1931 in Pocatello. He was a farmer at Downey and a member of the LDS Church.

Surviving are his widow; two sons, George DeMille, Ogden; Lanny James, Downey; two daughters, Mrs. Bill D. (Dixie Joy) Ward, Brigham City; Mrs. Lowell (Janine) Hubbard, Boise; three brothers, William, McCammon; John, Downey; David, Malad; ten grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday in the Downey LDS Second Ward with Bishop Kenneth Williams officiating.

Family prayer was offered by George D. Treasure; invocation, Raymond Horsley and benediction, Calvin Criddle. Speakers were Bishop Reed Morrison, Bishop Williams and June Morrison, who gave the life sketch. Special music included duet, Bob and Roxie Treasure; quartet, Tyndale Evans, Kenneth Williams, Harry Alsop and Dale Davis, and a selection by the Madrigal Choir, directed by Delores Bloxham. Accompanist was Jeannine Davis, who also played prelude and postlude music.

Dedicatory prayer was offered by Bishop William D. Fuhriman. Flowers were cared for by Downey Second Ward Relief Society, Glade Nielsen, president.

Honorary bearers were mark Treasure, Sheldon Treasure and David Treasure. Casket bearers were Kurt Treasure, Kim Treasure, Zan Treasure, Billy Ward, Darhl Hughes and Doneal Thomson.

Burial was in the Downey City Cemetery. Benson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
