George Howard Neal,73 of Malad, passed away Monday at the McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden after suffering a stroke. He was born Nov. 14, 1905 in Stone, Idaho, a son of Fredrick Charles and Andrea Christina Daley Neal. He married Cora Lillian Nielsen, Oct. 17, 1928 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Received his education in Stone. He owned and operated a farm in Holbrook. He lived there and in Malad all of his life. He was very active in the LDS Church serving as: Scout Master, Counselor in the Holbrook Ward Bishopric, High Counselor in Curley and Malad Stake, Bishop of Malad 1st Ward, and fulfilled two missions for the Church, one to the North Central States and one to the Salt Lake City Mission. He also served as Sunday School Superintendent and as officiator in the Logan Temple.
He is survived by his wife of Malad; two sons and four daughters: Mrs. Chester (Coralie) Bolingbroke, Ogden; Mrs. Joe (Euarda) Daniels, Malad; Mrs. J. Golden (Alice) Ward, Tremonton; Mrs. James (Carol) Ogden, Richfield, Utah. He has 25 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday at noon in the Malad LDS Stake Chapel with Bishop Gordon Griffiths of the 1st Ward officiating. Burial was in the Malad City Cemetery.
