George Perry

George Helm Perry, 81, Arbon Valley resident, died Thursday [July 3, 1986], in the Logan LDS Hospital of heart failure.

He was born March 11, 1905, in Yellville, Arkansas, a son of George Henry and Minnie Belle Young Perry.

He married Norma Smith on July 29, 1931 in the Logan LDS Temple. They lived in Yellville, for four years before moving to Buist, Idaho, where they began dry farming. In 1943, they bought a home in Logan, but George continued to farm until he retired in 1970.

He was an active member of the LDS Church where he served in various capacities. He was an officiator at the Logan LDS Temple from March 1, 1969 to December, 1985.

He is survived by his wife of Logan, three sons and two daughters, George H. Perry Jr., Salt Lake City: Merrill E. Perry, Malad; Robert L. Perry and Marcia Kay Perry, both of Logan; Mrs. Wallace (Margaret) Sjoblom, North Ogden, Utah; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Louise Perry Bird, Ogden; and Dr. John (Billie) Prprich, Murray, Utah.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at noon at the Allen-Hall Mortuary Chapel, Logan. Burial was in the Logan City Cemetery.
