GEORGE MOWER

MALAD — George A. Mower, 82, of Malad, died Monday, March 23, 1992, in the Oneida County Nursing Home.

He was born July 14, 1909, in Centerville, Utah, the son of George H. and Suzanne Brown Mower. He grew up and was educated in Farmington, Utah. He married Dorothy Akker March 16, 1966, in Salt Lake City.

He had worked as an electrician, and also in pest control at Hill Field Air Base, Ogden, Utah. In 1977, he and his wife had moved to Malad, where they had since resided.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, and having served in World War II, was also a member of the American Legion. George loved the outdoors, and enjoyed working in his orchard and garden.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of Malad; one stepson, Steven Akker, New Mexico; three step­daughters, Mrs. Stephen (Lynda) Hamblin, Preston, Mrs. Doug (Debra) Dance, Layton, Utah, and Mrs. Richard (Barbara) Lanhagan, Rockford, Ill.; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; four brothers, Virl, Salt Lake City, Utah, Alma, Salt Lake City, Willis and wife, Doris, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Dale and wife, Mary, Bullhead City, Ariz.; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Graveside services will be held Friday at noon in the Malad City Cemetery, with military and Masonic rites performed. Friends may call at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home in Malad from 11 a.m. until time of the service.
