Gayle Zundel, 94, passed away quietly with her family by her side Friday evening, February 9.

She was born in Malad, Idaho, December 18, 1912.

Gayle was preceded in death by her mother, Eliza Evans, and her father, David Evans, her husband, Iril (Ike) Zundel, and her long time companion, George Plaisance, and several sisters and a brother.

Gayle and Ike moved with their son, Donald, to Sparks in the early 40’s. She worked at the Southern Pacific Dormitories in Sparks and for many years was employed by the Cobb Insurance Company in Reno. She danced well into her 80’s, doing the cha-cha at her granddaughter’s wedding. Gayle was an accomplished painter, knitter and gardener.

Gayle is survived by her son, Donald (Karen); and granddaughters, Shannon Dunlap (Darin) and Shelli Tiller (Chris); three great-grandchildren, Mya, Jay and Ana; her sister, Elaine Godfrey; and many nieces and nephews live in Utah.

A service was held Thursday, February 15, at O’Brien-Rogers & Crosby Funeral Home in Reno, Nevada. Burial was in Malad, Idaho.
