Isabel Davis Zundel

ZUNDEL, ISABEL DAVIS, January 26, 1936 – April 7, 2006

SODA SPRINGS – Isabel Davis Zundel, 70, of Soda Springs passed away Friday, April 7, 2006 in the comfort of her home with her husband, the love of her life by her side.

Isabel was born January 26, 1936 at Malad, Idaho, the daughter of Joe and Lenna Thomas Davis. Isabel was raised and educated in Malad, Idaho. She has also lived in Preston, Pocatello and all of her adult life in Soda Springs.

She married A.M. Atkinson and had three daughters. They were later divorced. She married Dick T. Zundel on December 18, 1965 in Elko, NV. They had one daughter. She had worked as a clerk for the United States Postal Service in Soda Springs, retiring in 1996. She was a member of The Red Hats Society, American Postal Workers Union and a member of the “School of Hard Knocks”. She enjoyed traveling, planting flowers in her yard, birds, quilting, shopping and loved her children and grandchildren. Isabel had many lifelong friends who will miss her.

Isabel is survived by her husband, Dick, of Soda Springs and four daughters and their spouses: Marla Jo and Bill High of Idaho Falls; Mary Ellen and Brian hawk of Pocatello, Kathy Atkinson and Clint Armstrong of Pocatello; Jessica Jo and Tom Fuechsel of Soda Springs; also eight grandchildren; three brothers and one sister: Dean Davis, Fred Davis, Jim Davis and Anne Schenk.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a special aunt, Helen Folland “Aunt Benny”, two brothers: Don Davis and Griff T. Davis; and four sisters: Joan Davis, Helen McNabb, Janet Knott and Janis Capener.

Cremation services were conducted Friday. Memorial services will be conducted on Thursday, April 13, 2006 at 12:30 p.m. at the Sims Funeral Home in Soda Springs. Services are under the direction of the Sims Funeral Home.
