Frank R. Stocks, (1926)

STOCKS, FRANK R., January 23, 1926 – January 31, 2004

Frank R. Stocks, 78, resident of Malad, passed away on January 31, 2004 at the Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello.

He was born on January 23, 1926 in Burley, Idaho. He was the son of Clarence and Mary Stocks. Frank spent his early years in Burley and Malad, Idaho, before moving to Long Beach, California, where he graduated from Long Beach Polytech High School. He was then inducted into the army and served his country in the Pacific Theatre during World War II.

Frank married the love of his life, Sara Hill on August 29, 1947 in Long Beach, California. After their marriage Frank and Sara moved to Provo, Utah, where Frank attended BYU. They then moved to Columbia, South Carolina, where they lived for the next ten years and where their children were born. In 1958 Frank and the family moved to Norwalk, California, and remained there until he retired. At that time Frank and Sara returned permanently to Malad, Idaho where he became an integral part of the community. Frank belonged to the American Legion, the Malad Lion’s Club and a horseshoe pitching club. He was also active in the Malad Senior Citizens as well as the LDS Church.

Frank was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was an honorable man who was held in high esteem by all who knew him, and he will be greatly missed.

Frank is survived by his wife, Sara; his two sons, Steven (Robyn) and Kell (Marcia); his daughter Kathy (Michael); ten grandchildren; three granddaughters-in-law; and five great grandchildren. He is also survived by his two sisters, Mary Jane Ramsey, Boise, Idaho, and Florence Wiseman, Garden Grove, California.

Funeral services will be held February 5, 2004 in the Malad 2nd/5th Ward Chapel. Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery.
