Francis Marion Facer

FACER, FRANCIS M., March 6, 1903 – December 24, 1970

Francis Marion Facer, 67, died December 24 at the Malad City road equipment shop in Malad of a heart attack. Born March 6, 1903 in Cherry Creek to James A. and Rosella Dalton Facer. Married Vila Bell, Oct. 19, 1932 in the Logan LDS Temple. Member LDS Church and a Malad City employee.

He was an active member of the LDS Church and was employed by the City of Malad.

Survivors: widow; sons and daughters: Jay F., Salt Lake City; Melvin B., Pocatello; Reed B, Sheila, both of Malad; Mrs. Richard (Maxine) Bodily, Bountiful, UT; eight grandchildren; brothers, sisters, Glenn, Raymond, Howard, Mrs. Melba Lewis, all of Salt Lake City; Karl, Preston; Keith, Pocatello; Evan, Ogden; Mrs. Leonard (Mabel) Clark, Mrs. Albert (Mary) Nielsen, both Malad.

Funeral services were held at the Malad LDS 2nd Ward chapel. Bishop Gordon Crowther officiated and read the obituary. Speakers were Bishop Morgan Harris and patriarch Moyle E. Facer. June Crowther and Norma Gleed sang a duet and Jenkins L. Palmer, a solo, accompanied by Myra Jean John who also played prelude and postlude music. Family prayer was offered by Daniel C. Hall; invocation, Ben W. Call; benediction, Jon C. Ward.

Malad 2nd Ward Relief Society arranged the flowers under the direction of Verna Allen, president. Dedicatory prayer at the Malad City Cemetery was offered by Raiford G. Benson.

Honorary bearers were Gregory Facer, Kimberly Facer, Brent Facer, Michael Facer and Malad Stake high Priests Quorum. Casket bearers were Neil Facer, Sherman Facer, Terry Facer, Alma Facer, Cordell Williams and John V. Evans.
