Floyd Rex Christoffersen, 63, of 1301 Ridge, died early Friday morning (4 Feb 1988) at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City following an extended illness.
He was born August 19, 1924 in Daniels, Idaho, the son of Oscar and Lydia May Burrie Christoffersen.
He married Ella M. Briggs Archibald October 6, 1957 in Elko, Nevada.
He was a World War II veteran, having served in the infantry. For the past 30 years he had been a resident of Pocatello during the winters and lived in Malad during the summer, operating his farm in Daniels. Mr. Christoffersen retired in 1975.
He loved working on the farm in Daniels, hunting, fishing and camping.
He was a member of the LDS Church, VFW and American Legion posts in Malad.
He is survived by his wife of Pocatello; one son, W.O. “Oakey” Archibald, Pocatello, and one daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Darlene) Gentry, Rupert; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services were Monday at the Manning Funeral Chapel in Pocatello with Bishop B. Lynn Harris of the LDS 18th Ward officiating. Burial was in the Malad City Cemetery.
