MALAD—Grant Verner Christophersen, 67, 136 Bannock, Malad, died Saturday (24 Jul 1982) in the Franklin County Hospital after a long illness.

He as born Jan. 11, 1915, at Logan, Utah, to Peter Leroy and Violet Clossner Christophersen. He grew up in the Daniels area near Malad where the family home-steaded a farm. He was a graduate of Malad High School. He married Nellie Sweeten May 26, 1950, in Logan LDS Temple. She died Nov. 4, 1980. He has been a lifetime resident of the Malad area. For many years he owned and operated the Western Auto Store in Malad and later owned Grant’s Motel. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the army. He was a member of the LDS church.

Survivors include three sons, Larry G., Ogden, Utah; Gordon R., Buhl; and Don S., Logan, Utah; five grandchildren; a brother, Varsel Christophersen, Malad and two sisters, Mrs. William (Udar) Jones, Malad, and Mrs. William J. (Jeneva) Evans, Logan, Utah.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Malad LDS Fourth Ward chapel with Bishop Clarence Kent officiating. Friends may call Wednesday evening at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday prior to services.

Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery.
