Florence Mary Hammer

HAMMER, FLORENCE MARY, May 8, 1924 – January 20, 2004

TREMONTON – Our dearly beloved mother, Florence Mary Hammer, 79, returned to our heavenly Father on January 20, 2004. She passed away peacefully at her home. Florence was born on May 8, 1924 to Aaron Wilford and Urilla Thorpe Christiansen in Malad, Idaho. She married Jasper Lee Hammer on January 20, 1942.

She grew up in the Thatcher/Garland/Tremonton area and went to school at Bear River High. She worked at HAFB and Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska where she retired after 35 years of civil service. Following retirement, she served a two year mission in Spokane, Washington. After living in Alaska for 28 years, she returned to Elwood, Utah in 1994.

Surviving are five children, Jasper Lee Hammer of Fielding, Florence Peggy Halls of Elwood, Patsy Anne Bossio of new Jersey, Sally Lynne Tilton of Alaska, Martin Wilford hammer of Alaska, 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and two on the way, two great-great-grandchildren, one sister Patricia A. Perkins who is currently serving an LDS mission with her husband in Russia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Jackie Ray, two sisters, Arlene Urilla Hill and Kathleen Whitesides and one great-granddaughter, Biancqua.

Funeral services will be held January 24, 2004 at the Tremonton 2nd/5th Ward Chapel. Interment will be at the Tremonton Riverview Cemetery.
