Fern Artella Halford Hall

Fern Artella Halford Hall, 81, died July 6, 1997, at the Bear River Valley Hospital in Tremonton. She was born December 3, 1915, in Portage, a daughter of Royal and Erma Evelyn Conley Halford. She married Wendall C. Hall on January 5, 1935 in Ogden. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died March 23, 1994.
Fern was reared and educated in Portage, Utah and graduated from Bear River High School. She and her husband resided their entire married life in Portage on the family farm, where she took great pride in their farm, home, garden and flowers. After his death she moved to Tremonton.
She had friends throughout the valley who were very important to her. She was a positive example for good and a spiritual strength to them. She found joy in the accomplishments of her family and friends. Fern had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and tried to exemplify his teachings by serving others. She had served in various church callings including Malad Stake Young Women’s President, Spiritual Living Relief Society Teacher, Sunday School Teacher, Ward Chorister and was active in music throughout the county.
Surviving is one son and one daughter. Raymond Wendall (Mary Castleton) Hall, Cedar City; Brenda Hall McRae, Salt Lake City; 12 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving is one brother, Woodrow (Ada) Halford, Salt Lake City.
She was preceded in death by one son, Roger Hall; one daughter, Connie Bowen; and her other brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 11, 1997, 12:00 noon at the Tremonton Stake Center, 660 North 300 East. Friends may call Thursday, July 10, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Friday July 11, from 10:00-11:30 a.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton, Interment in the Portage Cemetery.
