PORTAGE, Utah – Wendell C. Hall, 88 died Wednesday, March 23, 1994, in the Box Elder County Nursing Home, Tremonton.

He was born January 2, 1906 in Portage, a son of George Ephraim and Rosabell Warren Hall. He married Winnie Jones; she was later deceased. He married Fern Artella Halford, January 5, 1935, in Ogden; the marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Mr. Hall was reared and educated in Portage and attended Box Elder High School. A lifelong resident of Portage, he was a farmer and rancher, and had been employed by U & I Sugar Company for many years.

He had been Mayor of Portage, President of the Portage Irrigation Co., and a member of the Box Elder County Welfare Board.

Wendell and Fern celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1985 with their friends and loved ones.

He was a High Priest in the Portage LDS Ward and had been YMMIA president and activity counselor, Sunday School Superintendent, High Priest Group Leader, Counselor in two bishoprics and a home teacher.

Surviving are his wife of Portage; two daughters and two sons and their spouses, Connie Bowen Ogden; Raymond W. and Mary Hall, Cedar City; Roger C. Hall, San Francisco, California; Brenda and Loren McRae, Sandy; 12 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Mrs. Dorothy (Chester) Cannon, Vista, California.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 26 in the Portage LDS Ward, with Bishop Bud Lee Knudsen officiating. Interment was in the Portage Cemetery.
