FAUNDA BYBEE DIES NOVEMBER 22

Faunda Gweneviere Romero Bybee, 73, died November 22 at the Caribou Memorial Hospital in Soda Springs of cancer. She was born to Andrew and Hannah Eliason Romero on May 16, 1911, in Paris Idaho.

On June 5, 1929, she married Orson Sirren Bybee in Salt Lake City. At an early age she moved to Soda Springs and was educated there. She was a member of the LDS Church and was active in many capacities.

An active member in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers she also assisted the DUP in compiling “Toisobia” a history of this area. “ The Romero Story” she also compiled and published, which was a family genealogy book. Another book she wrote was “Now and Then,” a history of the Soda Springs area. She enjoyed handiwork and genealogy and spent most of her life farming with her husband in the Soda Springs area.

She is survived by her husband, Soda Springs; three sons and one daughter, Serrin F. Bybee and Don L. Bybee, both of Salt Lake City; Andrew R. Bybee, Malad; Mrs. Pauline Schaeffer, Logan, Utah; 24 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Forrest Romero, Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, six brothers and five sisters.

Funeral services were held Monday, November 26, at the Soda Springs Stake Center. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs.
