Evan was born December 24, 1916 in Cherry Creek, Idaho, the 13th child and the 9th son of Rozilla Dalton and James Alma Facer.

Evan loved horses and animals of all kinds. In his early years he was a sheepherder and a ranch hand for many ranches around the Malad Valley. In 1942 he enlisted in the army. During World War II he served with the 10th Mountain Division Company C 87th Regiment. His duties took him to the Aleutian Islands and to Italy across the Riva Ridge and through the North Apennines.

Evan married the love of his life Mattie Earl on July 25, 1942 in Woodruff, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on April 27, 1970. She preceded him in death on February 12, 2005, which left him with a broken heart.

Evan joined the Air Force in 1947 and he traveled to many bases around the world. He had the opportunity to cook for President Eisenhower and Prime Minister Winston Churchill. He retired in May 1965 and went on to work at the Defense Depot Ogden until retiring on July 2, 1982.

Evan loved to cook for people and loved to take care of his garden. He loved to camp, fish and most of all hunt with his boys, nephews and friends.

He is survived by three daughters and two sons, LaRue (Doug) Winget, Las Vegas, NV; Lorraine (Michael) Bowen, Hyde Park, UT; Terry (Kathy) Facer, West Valley; Larry (Verna) Facer, and Pamela (Mark) Randall, both of Ogden.
