KEITH HOLBROOK FACER

1916-2005

Keith Holbrook Facer, 88, returned to his Heavenly Father on April 27 after a courageous battle with Merkel cell carcinoma. He passed away at home surrounded with his family’s love.

He was born December 5, 1916 in Holbrook, Idaho to William Henry and Amanda Holbrook Facer. Growing up on a farm he learned the meaning of hard work and gained his love of tilling the earth. He served a mission in the Northwestern States for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. While serving in the army during World War II, Keith married his sweetheart, Virginia Murdoch, on June 24, 1942 in the Salt Lake Temple. He graduated from BYU in 1949 with a degree in Sociology. Keith was a faithful member of the Church his entire life and held many positions of service. After retirement, Keith and Virginia served a mission in the Mesa Arizona Temple Visitors Center. They have enjoyed 63 years of love and respect together. Keith radiated a special spirit and was known to all for his Christ-like life. His greatest loves were his family and his God.

Survived by his wife, Virginia; daughters Jeanne (Allen) Hughes, Sue (Lee) Parkin; son David Facer (Annett); son-in-law Lynn Peterson; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; sister Martha (Royce) Flandro, Donna Michaelson; brother Reed (Billie) Facer; sisters-in-law Lyle and Edele Facer. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Bill and Norman Facer; sisters Helen and Karma Facer; daughter Laraine Peterson and brothers-in-law Paul Dean Proctor and Millard “Mike” Michaelson.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 2nd at 12 noon at the Valley View 3rd Ward, 4101 South 1925 East. Friends may call on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, and the church on Monday morning from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 1750 East 3300 South.
