ARCO – Eunice Larsen Phillips, 84, longtime Lost River Valley resident, died Wednesday, April 6, 1994, at the Marlow Care Center in St. Anthony of causes incident to age.

She was born August 19, 1909, at Smithfield, Utah, to Rast and Phosa Smith Larsen. She grew up and attended elementary and high school at Malad, Idaho.

She married John E. Phillips at Brigham City, Utah, October 20, 1926. They operated a motel, café, and service station at Downey and farmed there until 1953, when they purchased a cattle ranch on the Big Lost River at Arco. They retired in 1974.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and Arco Bridge Club and worked in various civic organizations.

Survivors include 3 sons and their spouses: Jack L. and Sally Phillips, Merlin and Gloria Phillips of Arco, and Gary and Cordelia Phillips of Richland, Washington. Other survivors are 4 sisters, Eva Flippence, Murray, Utah.; Berniece Thorne, Lewiston, Utah,; Gwen Neldon, Smithfield, Utah.; Pauline Read, Preston, Idaho; eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four sisters, two brothers, and one granddaughter.

A graveside service and burial will be conducted on Monday, April 11, at 1 p.m. at the Downey, Idaho, cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Lost Rivers Hospital or the Butte County Cancer Society, Arco, Idaho.
