ETTA MAY HOWARD READ

Etta May Read died March 26 [1983]

Etta May Howard Read, 84, died March 26 in a hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born to John C. and May Elizabeth Walker Howard on August 31, 1898 in Rockland. On December 22, 1915 she married Lewis C. Read in the LDS Salt Lake Temple. They lived in the Rockland area where he farmed On March 30, 1966 Mr. Read died.

In the 1960’s Mrs. Read lived in Pocatello and was employed by Atkin[sic] Florist. She was active in the LDS Church and took part in musical activities and teaching positions.

She is survived by two children, L. Clifton Read, Fresno, California; and Mrs. Kenneth (Lou Etta) Nelson, Sandy, Utah; two brothers, Ace A. Howard, Fallon, Nevada, and Chester W. Howard, Redwood, California; 11 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held last Wednesday, March 30, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Graveside services were held later in the afternoon at the Valley View Cemetery in Rockland.
