READ, MARC S., January 23, 1973 – December 23, 2006

RIVERDALE – Marc Spencer Read, 33, was called home by his Father in Heaven on Friday, December 23, 2006 as a result of a car accident. He was born January 23, 1973 in Elko, Nevada to James Spencer Read and Sandra Lee Nieffenegger Umbel. He attended school in Preston, Idaho. He married Angela Stone Athay and they were later divorced. From this union his most treasured gifts were born, Jessica Lee and Kody Marc Read. They reside in Bennington, Idaho.

Marc was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and he had a testimony of God and prayer in his life. He was a welder at ICON and later he was employed doing what he loved, working as an equipment operator in excavation and also mechanics. Marc loved the outdoors, especially hunting. He had a great sense of humor and loved helping people.

Marc is survived by his children, Jessica Lee and Kody Marc Read of Bennington, Idaho; his parents James (Pat) Read, Riverdale, Idaho; and Sandra L. (Rich) Umbel, Albuquerque, New Mixico; a brother Mike (Karolee) Read, Riverdale, Idaho; a sister Michelle (Chris) Shumway of Albuquerquem New Mexico; grandparents, LaVere and Joyce Nieffenegger of Malad, Idaho; and Mary (Earl) Noble, Brigham City, Utah. He is also survived by his step-brothers and step-sisters, many uncles, aunts and cousins. He was preced in death by a grandfather, L. Clifton Read.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 28, 2006 at noon in the Riverdale 2nd Ward Chapel with Bishop Ronnie Keller conducting. Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, Preston, and Thursday from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Riverdale Cemetery.
