Mrs. Harrison Dies Tuesday at 91 Years of Age
Mrs. Emma D. Harrison, 91, daughter of a Malad Valley pioneer family, and one of Malad’s oldest residents, died Tuesday at Malad of causes incident to age.
Her death came three days after her only sister, Mrs. Alma Lusk, 82, died at Sugar City, Idaho.
Mrs. Harrison was born Sept. 27, 1866 at Malad and had lived here most of her life. She was the fifth child of Jesse H. and Ellen Rhees Dredge. On November 26, 1884, she was married to James P. Harrison in the Logan LDS Temple. Mr. Harrison died January 27, 1937.
Mrs. Harrison had been actively engaged in church work most of her life. She worked in the Primary, being president of the ward organization in the St. John ward for several years. She had been an active Relief Society member and was a teacher in that organization most of her adult life. She was a member of the geneology committee in the Second ward for many years and had also worked in many other Church capacities. For over 17 years, Mrs. Harrison was a practical nurse in the Valley, helping the doctors in time of illness and need.
She is survived by one son and two daughters, Mrs. Arthur T. (Nora) Williams, Malad; Zeniff D. Harrison, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Glenn D. (Priscilla) Facer, Salt Lake City; one brother, Richard R. Dredge, Parma, Idaho; also, 35 grandchildren, 8? Great grandchildren and 20 great great grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Benson Funeral Home.
