ELMO YEARSLEY SMITH

VENTURA, Calif.–Graveside services for Elmo Yearsley Smith, 66, of Ventura, California, were held Monday, January 31, 1983 in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Salt Lake City.

Mrs. Smith passed away at home Tuesday, January 25, 1983 after an extended illness. She was born August 19, 1916, in St. John, Idaho to Melvin and Josephine Jones Yearsley. She married Dr. C. Perry Smith March 31, 1942. She had been a resident of Ventura for the past 25 years. She was a devoted wife and mother and spent countless hours of service in the Women’s Relief Society of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She is survived by: husband, Ventura; daughters: Judy Goodsell, Placenta, California; Dixie Burt, Rexburg, Idaho; Karen Kinnersley, West Jordan, Utah; sons: Dennis Smith, Hurricane, Utah; Rodney Smith, Centerville, Utah; 20 grandchildren; two brothers and five sisters: Dale Yearsley, and Evan J. Yearsley, both of Orem, Utah; Mrs. Darrell (Norma) Schiffman, Logan, Utah; Mrs. Don (Rula) Gowers, Nephi, Utah; Mrs. Phil (Theone) Rees, West Valley City, Utah; Mrs. DeVon (Ina) Daniels, Ogden, Utah; Mrs. Brian (Karen) Kent, Gooding, Idaho: several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister Mrs. Woodrow (Twila) Giles.
